This is a very early build of Emberfall. The story, the world and much of the content are not fully fleshed out yet - expect placeholder text, rough edges, balance problems and bugs. Things will change a lot between versions. If you play it, I'd love to hear what you think: what felt good, what didn't, and anything that broke.

The Emberfall has come. The dead are walking. Survive the night.

Emberfall is a dark-fantasy horde survivor. Pick a hero, step out into the night, and hold your ground against hundreds of the dead while your spells strike on their own. Every level-up offers a choice of new spells and powers. By the end of a run your hero is a storm of steel, fire and starlight cutting through the horde.

SEVEN HEROES, SEVEN SPELLBOOKS

Every hero casts only their own spells and plays completely differently.

• Kael, the Ashen Knight - a reaping scythe, oath-bound blades and holy smites

• Lyra, the Ember Witch - fire and frost: falling stars, flame serpents and blizzards

• Vex, the Storm Ranger - moon glaives, ball lightning and a storm hawk

• Morrow, the Gravecaller - hexes, bone spikes, wisps and a void ray

• Rook, the Beastbinder - hounds, gargoyles and a grave wyrm fight at her side

• Orion, the Starbound - black holes, supernovas, comets and orbiting stars

• Chronova, Keeper of Hours - stop time, wind it back, then shatter everything frozen in it

Each hero also has an ability of their own, on a cooldown.

SPELLS THAT GROW WITH YOU

56 spells, and every one of them evolves into a stronger form. Evolve two spells of the same hero and they can fuse into a single colossal set-piece: an ash colossus that sweeps the field, a storm roc, a black hole that ends in a supernova, a clock that strikes the end of time.

FOUR CURSED BATTLEFIELDS

• The Graveyard - a smouldering field of graves under a cold moon

• The Burning Citadel - a fallen town still on fire, its dead garrison still marching

• The Frozen Abbey - a snowbound monastery on a frozen lake. On the ice, everything slides - you and the horde.

• The Drowned Marsh - a black bog under a green mist. Wading slows everyone, so keep to the boardwalks.

THE HORDE AND ITS LORDS

Shambling husks, bat swarms, grave slimes, wraiths, skeleton legions, crypt spiders, cultists, stone brutes and shield-bearing Hollow Revenants that block every blow from the front. Elites rise with dangerous affixes. And five lords stalk the night - the Gravewarden, the Bone Colossus, the Matron of Wings, the Pyre Knight and the Hollow King himself.

EVERY NIGHT IS DIFFERENT

• Relics from fallen lords, blessings from forgotten gods, and pacts that trade danger for reward

• Night events: a wandering merchant, sealed crypts, a Blood Altar bargain, a stampede, a total eclipse

• Kill streaks and frenzy, bounties to complete, chests to open

A REASON TO COME BACK

• The Sanctum: spend the gold you bring home on permanent upgrades

• Hero mastery, unlockable skins and feats

• Endless mode after victory - how long can you last?

• Story, Normal and Hard difficulty

• A sandbox mode to try every hero and spell

CONTROLS

Move with WASD or the left stick. Dash with Space. Use your hero's ability with Q. Your spells cast themselves - your job is to move, dodge and choose.

Full gamepad support, rebindable keys, and accessibility options (flash intensity, reduced motion, high-visibility warnings, larger text).
